I have such curiosity about what happened in India! And I like Anne, so sophisticated compared to Horatio, and so kind...

I really like Anne too. I'm struggling not to make her too perfect. She is so feisty and sweet, I haven't found what makes her dark and you need some shadows to set off the light. But she is quite intrigued by young Horatio, so very different from the few other friends of Archie that she's met. I rewatched Duchess and the Devil while writing this, and thought about how easily Horatio was with Kitty's teasing and flirting, and tried to borrow a gentle version for Anne
