I really like Anne too. I'm struggling not to make her too perfect. She is so feisty and sweet, I haven't found what makes her dark and you need some shadows to set off the light. But she is quite intrigued by young Horatio, so very different from the few other friends of Archie that she's met. I rewatched Duchess and the Devil while writing this, and thought about how easily Horatio was with Kitty's teasing and flirting, and tried to borrow a gentle version for Anne.

India.... is dark. I've toyed a little with writing bits, but I can't find a way to do it that isn't prurient or outright nauseating. I know at least in broad strokes everything that happened, and who did what to whom, the Archie's first sexual relationship, how he met Simpson and what that first time was like, and then the second..., why Clayton got involved and why he drinks, the other boy that fell, etc. etc. But it's all so darned icky. I don't know what Archie will say when Horatio asks him, but probably it won't come out in this fic. I have ten pounds of angst in a five pound fic already.
