I didn't have time to write anything new, so cheated and searched my files for the word 'pirate'. Found this odd little thing, which I have no recollection of writing. Must have been inspired by a challenge as it's based on Monet's Impression, soleil levant.

but as has been commented elsewhere on this = this is particularly lyrical but with that poetic sense of irony that Archie has and the strength and serenity which characterises his happier days and especially his dying detemination to bring good to bear out of a mess.
there is something of the sun, the bright Apollo in Archies move through this shimmer - you were in a good and lyical phase just then :) thank you for posting this. and it has made today much fuller
and just that bit more thoughtful and moment of loveliness than it would have been

Made me ponder a lot this morning as I stopped to read it the process of writing a chapter on Will Kempthorne - as a young lieutenant in a bad posting ,court martialled and dismissed the service and disgraced and the six long years of Neds search for justice and restoration for him .
