The main arguement I've heard against such things are moral issues with the idea of creating life only to end it in the harvesting of stem cell or organs. And I have to say that is not something that I am entirely comfortable with either, mainly due to ethical concerns, which are different from moral ones. Is one life so important that it is acceptable to end the life of another for the sole purpose of sustaining the other's life?

Currently, the best way to grow a human heart is to grow a human. If cloning and stem cell research could find an alternate way to grow organs, then I think that would eliminate the issue. Of course, that starts a chicken-or-the-egg arguement. I don't think that we can get to that level without being able to explore current understanding of stem cells and cloning.
