Have a look at
this article. Korea's making advances in cloning, advances that could allow for new mediums of study in pathobiology. It could be the step towards eliminating or treating a host of diseases. At least in other nations without restrictive bans on stem cell research and human cloning. There are a lot of 'pros' for therapeutic cloning, hard science to back it up, but most of the 'cons' seem to be morality based. So! What does everybody think??
Are ya' furrit or agginnit? Does cloning embryos matched genetically to diseased patients for the purposes of studying the progression of the disease strike you as immoral or pragmatic? How 'bout embryos cloned to provide tissue that could result in (far future projection here) replacement organs? Smack of organ harvesting or just an inevitable phase of medical scientific progress? I'd like to leave religion out of it if I could, I don't think anyone elses deity/philosophy/head of cabbage should make the calls for all of us.
So, what would you like to see happen?
