~ This was perfect. PERFECT!!! Messy and gritty and broken, just like House and and his posse. Seriously, this is probably the most realistic fanfic I've read that had a happy ending. It was soooo good, like I was watching the season finale. It fixed the House/Cuddy debacle in a realistic way. I absolutely hated how badly Cuddy castrated House in season 7. He was seriously, as you put it, "pussy whipped". It's totally out of character for him but it shows that he's faking his way through that mess because he's afraid to be alone and thinks this is the only chance for a real relationship that he'll have. That is complete and utter bullshit cuz he should have been with Wilson from the first episode. The entire show is just pre-slash cuz they can't show the good stuff on tv or the writers just love torturing the characters. Honestly, when I saw "The Down Low", I squealed like such a fangirl. I thought if they're not shagging by the end of this episode, the writers are just evil fucking teases. They are. If this fic could be the season ( ... )

My original goal with this fic was simply to explore what House might be like if he couldn't remember, and dwell on, the experiences that have shaped his relationships and his outlook on life. But then I realized that I could use his condition as a tool with which to 1) keep a late-in-the-game House/Wilson relationship plausible within the confines of canon thus far and 2) wrap up a horrible season with a happy (at least by Housian standards) ending. Win-win!

Anyway, my beta and I obsessed over this fic for months, I love the way it turned out, I only wish that I had any hope of seeing something like this on the show, and it thrills me to no end when other folks tell me how much they liked it, too.
