Yarn Craft Update

After deciding to abandon the cardigan so I could take the needles from it and use them for a better project, I went and got said cardigan. It looked far more interesting and pretty than I remember. So, I'm not going to give up on it just yet. It still looks like it's knit by a beginner, but it actually fits pretty well, and I have 2 more balls of ( Read more... )

When I started knitting I was doing the same thing, twisting stitches. I don't really see anything wrong with twisted stockinette. It turns out that is the 'norm' in some countries, too. Plus I think it looks pretty. So your cardi should be lovely.

Hey, at least you did the entire thing with twisted stitches. On my first (and only) sweater, it was all done in normal stockenette except for about six stitches right where a breast-pocket would be if there was one.
I know it's virtually unnoticeable, but I can't wear the sweater without being aware of it. If it was on the sleeve or the back or the bottom edge or something, I could wear it without being self-conscious. Well, the ends of the sleeves are kind of rough-edged, but it's wearable. Only those twisted stitches...
So I think I've worn the thing once, and that when I took the dog out for field-training.
