And so the gods decide a pile of ruins would be an excellent place to drop me.  Ah, yes, not just a pile of ruins, but a pile of ruins with a rather large, rather vicious monster roaming about making life harder on all of us.  Where's a hunter when you need one?

Or, should I say, where's an airship when you need one?  As absolutely charming as this ( Read more... )

The south is where everyone is congregated.

You won't find a dock for gummi-ships (which I assume are like your airships) anywhere, though it is a relief to find someone who knows of some civilization.

The south? All right. Any particular landmarks I should be looking for?

No aerodomes, then? Well, that's a pity. And here I was hoping that this would be an easy escape.

Nothing large, but there a little noodle shop run by the apparent Superior. Really, you can't miss her.

Easy? When the powers that be curse a man, they tend not to go about things halfway.

Oh, no, never halfway. But I've never been one to let a little thing like fate stop me from getting what I want.

Welcome to hell, friend. Can't say I've seen your long-eared friend, though I'll keep an eye out.

That explains a lot. Large, terrifying monsters, overhanging sense of despair... All I need are a few of my former lovely acquaintances and everything will be perfect.

I've been discovering quite a number of "lovely" acquaintances here myself.

Wonderful. In any case, if anyone by the name of Ba'Gamnan happens to be here, tell him I'm not.

As I've told others who have made requests for guns, check the Police Stations or one of the Gun Shops around. At the rate I'm going I may as well become a gun dealer while I'm here.

Ah, wonderful! First bit of good news I've heard all day. What sort of models and shots are available?

At the police station...mostly semi-automatic pistols but there were a few rifles as well...although there were also more mags for the pistols than there were for the rifles.

At a gun shop you would probably have a more wide range of hunting type guns like rifles and shotguns. So I suppose whatever you're comfortable with.

Pistols I know, rifles I know, shotguns I know, but I can't say I know what you mean by "semi-automatic."

I meant more along the lines of an Arcturus, a Spica, some Wyrmfire shot... Somehow I doubt I'm going to be lucky enough to find any of those.

..... dark skin and white hair?

Uh... Can't say I remember you, amigo.

Can't say I remember you, either. ...Although you do look as though you would stand out in a crowd.

Ah! So I'm not the one you seek. Sorry about that. People do always seem to be waiting for me...

It is the wise man who would rather stand out in a crowd than become a part of it.

Unless you're a viera by the name of Fran and haven't told me, no. ...Waiting for you?

That I'll have to disagree on.

You like guns too, huh? You're best off checking police stations. Or since this is New York, a convenience store isn't a bad bet either.

My preferred weapon of choice, though I suppose a sword wouldn't be too terrible of an addition as well.

New York? Never heard of it. But I doubt you'll have heard of Archades or Rabanastre.

There's no security like the security you get from a beautiful 12-gauge.

You're right. I haven't. Take it you're not from around here?

You'd be right. I'm from a place called Ivalice. Interesting place to stay as long as there isn't a war going on. On the bright side, we seem to be lacking in those for the moment and may not be having them for awhile.
