Emma felt her phone vibrate in the mess of the sheets that was the bed. She sat up, pausing a few moments to try to figure out exactly where her phone was hidden. Smiling she slipped under the covers. She emerged smiling, phone in hand.

Moving up to the head of the bed she slid her hand thumb across the phone's surface and smiled when Nolan's text lit up the screen.

I'm finally home she typed out, It took for ever but I'm back. I have a gift for you btw.

Nolan was grabbing another beer when he heard his phone vibrate on the coffee table. He smiled and picked it back up.

Ur alive! Sweet. What is it? Aaand I have a gift for u too. If ur nice.

Emma rolled her eyes after reading the message, smiling slightly as she leaned back into some pillows and sent her reply.

Omg, I am nice! People need to stop saying I'm not. Britt can get away with it. But you? No way. I'm just gonna ignore that fact you asked b/c of course I'm not going to tell you. Duh

See! Ur hurtfulness is unnecessary, woman. Not even a hint? I come in peace, I swear.

Nolan stared at his healing bruises and frowned before adding to the message. Well...for the most part...

Don't be too pissed. I'm sry I lost my head but some ppl don't get what it's like watching siblings get hurt.

Nolan frowned, feeling like crap again. He knew he kind of overreacted, but seeing Row that upset reminded him of the time Rowan's fiancee had cheated and broke her heart. Nolan always felt like he never did enough to protect her.

She really liked this guy. They were about to...yeah. And he moaned his ex's name. I didn't know all this until after. Don't kill me.

Emma's mouth dropped open as she read the text, replying quickly.

Yeah, no. That's awful. I'm not even all that mad. I wish you hadn't punched him but I totally understand why you did. How is Rowan?

I saw a crying Row and heard he was the cause and reacted. I know. Bad Nolan.

Nolan took a sip of his beer and sat back against the couch again. She's not really talking. I think she's mad at me. Idk. She's been volunteering a lot. It's her coping thing.

Emma hesitated a few minutes before replying.

I could...I dunno...talk to her or something? If you want. I don't want to..intrude on the twin thing

Yeah, yeah ruin my fun. I'm pretty sure KC would rip me apart for that anyway...so no tagteaming against me pls.

Nolan grinned, picturing the menacing expression Emma probably had on right now.

Srsly tho. Wanna meet her? She was suspicious about u at 1st but her snark is just part of her charm. Kinda like someone else i know :p

Emma slipped out of bed, heading to the kitchen for some water, typing her reply with one hand as she pulled a glass out of the cabnet.

Of course I want to meet her! If I'm going to hand over my boyfriend I wanna know who is taking my man.

Nolan smiled a little, checking the game's score before finishing his reply.

So I know I'm awesome, but enough about me. How are u doing?

Emma filled her cup with water then headed back into the bedroom.

Pouting over the loss of my best boyfriend ever. But, I suppose I'll live. You'll just have to owe me. Another round of pizza might begin to make up for my pain and suffering. Even though I paid for that last time. Maybe I should warn KC you're kind of an awful boyfriend.
