Puck grinned as she rolled another strike. "You're never gonna win, McNeil. I've got magic hands." Puck joked, wigging her fingers at Rose's face. She sat back down in her chair, taking a sip of her soda. Rose was pretty good at bowling herself, but ( Read more... )

"Pure luck I say. Pure luck." Rose grabbed her bright pink ball from the machine.

"Do you even know what these things are called? Ball returners? I just thought of that."

Rose headed towards their lane. She had taken off the nasty bowling shoes a few frames before, and was now playing in her brightly colored socks. White socks were never really her thing. Rolling the ball down the lane she knocked 7 of the pins, leaving three on the left side.

Puck laughed. "We'll see about that 'pure luck' when I get my turkey next turn," she teased. "You, on the other hand, will be lucky to get a spare." She took another sip from her soda.

"DON'T MESS UP!" she yelled as Rose rolled her second ball down the lane in a futile attempt to scare her into throwing a gutter ball.

"PUCK! You know I am jumpy!" Rose yelled as her ball rolled straight into the gutter. It was more than likely going to end up there anyway, but Rose decided it was easier to blame Puck for her mistake.

"Gosh Puck, thanks for that." Rose knew that she wasn't going to be able to get revenge for it, she didn't think fast enough to screw up Puck.

Puck laughed, taking a final sip of her soda before standing up. "I'm just trying to help you get used to distractions," she grinned, winking at Rose. "Can't have you react like that on the field if someone screams at you, right?" She grabbed her ball and smoothly rolled it down the lane. The pins knocked over, the last pin in the right corner wobbling nervously before finally succumbing to gravity and falling. "TURKEY!" Puck called, pumping her fist in the air. "I should've bet you good money on this game," she joked as she settled back into her seat.

"I don't have this problem in the game and you know it. Once I'm focused, nothing gets me. But this place is not meant to focus, it's to have fun."

Rose grinned as her friend got the infamous 'Turkey', even if she wasn't sure exactly what that meant. She knew it was good, since Puck was gathering points like crazy. The computer screen above their heads showed Puck dominating, but Rose didn't let it get her down.

"Why haven't I seen you around this summer? Did you get a boyfriend or something?"

Puck laughed. "Boyfriend?" She thought of Emily. Girlfriend. So yes, I guess. She smirked at the thought of Emily's voice in her ear, begging her. Her smirk only widened when she thought of saying, Yeah. I'm totally banging head cheerleader Emily Smulders. She laughed. "Nah. Not really into boyfriends. Lima doesn't make cute boys." She leaned back in her seat and took a sip of her soda. "Where have you been? Maybe you're the one with the boyfriend?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well I have been talking to someone, but we aren't like really dating..." Rose started to ramble off. She really didn't know what to call her texting Jason all the time, but he never really made a move. 'Boys, so silly' she thought.

"I guess I have been on a couple trips and other things. We went to Mississippi at the start of the summer." Rose looked around the bowling alley.

"I could really use some nasty greasy fries, what do you think?"

Puck laughed. "Who is he?" she grinned. Getting up from her seat. "And you only want fries because you're losing so terribly. What can I say? I'm a master." She chuckled.

"I could go for fries, though."

"What can I say, losing makes me hungry." Rose grinned as she threw on some shoes. She didn't want to walk across the floor of the bowling alley in her socks. What if there was gum or spilled pop?

"Two fries coming up. As far as the boy goes, well when it becomes something real, you can be the first one to know."

Puck laughed, following Rose to the food counter. "Good," she grinned, "I love being first. Which, as you know, is pretty much always." Especially when it comes to the soccer team, she resisted adding. "But you get to tell me about him now anyways because I don't have anything else interesting to talk about."

"Calm yourself, McNeil. I'm not the whore you seem to think I am and I highly doubt I'm going to get pregnant," Puck replied with a laugh. She smiled as she noticed Rose eying her fries. She pushed the basket her way.

"I'm full. You want to help me?"

"Of course I will. When am I going to turn down some food." Rose picked up some of the fries.

"I didn't know I was this hungry. Oh, are you going to Emily's birthday party this weekend?"

Puck chuckled, pushing the basket further toward Rose.

"Yeah, I'm going. You know me; I don't miss a good party. You're going, too, right?"

"Oh same here. How can you miss a party thrown by Emily? I am not sure if I like the white theme. Everyone wearing white seems like stains waiting to happen."

Rose finished off Puck's fries and looked back towards the lanes.

"One more game for me to show that I can actually bowl? Or just a game for you to kick my ass, your choice."
