moireach was griping the other night about academic types who may well be brilliant scientists, but are utterly useless when it comes to basic organizational skills. She cited, by way of example, Profs in her department who leave important and highly sensitive documents in airport bathrooms and such. Hee! Just be glad there's not a great big wall you have to scale every time you forget your wallet.

Hee. It is nice when other people are as feckless as you are. I once forgot that I would need my passport to get into France. Where there's a whole sea to remind you that it's another country. Fortunately I was with people much more neurotic about checking and rechecking such things than me and didn't get all the way to Le Shuttle without it.

And I don't even have the brilliant scientist thing on my side!

I have, of course, driven from Boston to Montreal a dozen times or more over the years. There was a big honkin international border in the way EVERY TIME.
