I used to be really adamant about not having a fic journal--I probably just wanted to be 'different' :D--but I'm finding it really, really useful. I like tagging things and having all my fic organized in one place. It was definitely a hassle to put together because I reposted everything--and I mean everything, even going as far back as my Harry Potter days. You wouldn't have to do that; linking back to here is fine. Really, it's all on whether or not you want to spend a few hours moving everything to a new place. It was just a personal preference for me ( ... )

I'm on team repost! 8D I love having my own fic comm where I can separate my personal entries and my fic entries. :3 It's pretty bare as it is, but we're getting there. XD

I think your second point would work out quite well if you didn't want to repost everything.

Adult Notifications - I have mine set to "may contain adult situations" or whatever, just to cover myself. I don't want to have to lock anything because that's annoying. :P

It's all done at pogonipky. ♥ Thank you!

it all depends how people organize their flists. for me, personally, i have fic on a different filter, so if you ONLY post fic to your fic comm, i'll read it asap when i reload that filter. howevs, that said, i have this username on a filter i read far more often. SO.

as for adult notification, go for "i write adult themes" if you're starting a comm. then adjust to "no adult themes" or "expicit" when you post fic. THAT is what i do anyway. just saying.

date out of order DOES NOT WORK ON COMMS. NOT AT ALL. COMMS POST AS YOU POST. which is a bitch, i concur, but that is the nature of lj.

i have no further commentary because i need to SLEEP but i hope i helped :/

AH-ha, I see! Well, either way, when I post a fic I'll probably still stuck in a little link to it here in this journal. Obstinate. >>

And ugh, yeah, I figured that out quick enough. Gotcha!!

I hope you slept well. ♥ It's all done at pogonipky, so give it a look. :D Thank you!

Yeah, that's what I end up doing, too; just putting a little link in my personal journal, so that interested parties can get an update about it as well, in case they don't have my fic journal on their regular reading filter.

Yay for new journals! It looks great :D I will have to trawl it and see if there's anything I haven't read yet. ;)

I created my own fic comm when my rl friends were all like, "So, you've been posting lot of porn lately!". It just made things easier. :D

Ajdjdljdk, LJ cut me off. Anyways, it looks like you've sorted things out!
