I'm going to steal #2, 9, 10 if you don't mind ;) Haven't decided which ones to put on my journal, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. I have a lot of empty icon spaces and at least a few of them should be filled with Tonami

And so is constructive criticism. I completely see your point about the flare being somewhat unnecessary and rather distracting the icons mentioned and if I get to go back and redo them, I'll probably not include the flare at all. As you said... simple can be the most eloquent. However, I just had to try it out and since it was late, I made a few rushed decision and they ended up looking like this. The flare is just a bit too much, but it will do for now. :) I do hope to improve more in the future.

+1 re: lens flare.

Alternatively, get some textures with lights (esqaire has the most beautiful light!textures I've ever seen, though they should probably be approached with caution because they're way too shiny and I end up going overboard) and use those instead - textures are made to be softer than the lens flare filter in photoshop, generally offer more colouring opportunities, and tend to light up the whole icon instead of just the one section so that the tone of the icon stays consistent.

Also, definitely +1 re: these being much much better than my first icons! And some of my current ones, haha.

And these are your first icons? Damn, now I've really got an inferiority complex regarding icon making... I barely have the patience to deal with fixing light levels.

Wait, let me rephrase. I don't have the patience. Seriously. When I need a screenshot lightened or darkened for icon making I pass it over to m'lady. I think I needs more patience.

God, I'm so happy that you like 13! It took me so long to make and I really really like the outcome myself. ♥

I think, at the moment, I have all the patience in the world. Normally I don't, but with this... icon-making, as with Zuka watching, is a great escape from feeling depressed and sad all the time, so I try to enjoy myself as much as possible. :)

And don't feel inferiour. Your icons are lovely!

Ah, see I tend to have the opposite problem. When getting depressed, it's hard for me to concentrate on anything. Except reading, which explains the three books I went through last week...

My icon skills have little to do with anything other than far too much knowledge of Elisabeth and thus where exactly to pause the DVD for the best screenshots.
