Ripping

I've been googling all morning without any joy, so can anyone help me with a pointer to ripping a section of dvd (.vob, .ifo files) onto my hard-drive to make a small clip viewable in WMP or Quicktime? I don't have a dvd burner. My dvd player/software is cyberlink powerdvd if that makes any difference and so far I have downloaded a few trial ( Read more... )

It's a toughie. I use SmartRipper, which gives you vobs and ifo's, but then I put them into Sony Vegas Movies Studio to convert them to other file types - and I had to buy that programme.

This Super Ripper is supposed to rip and convert, but it isn't much chop so far. I'll check out SmartRipper! Thanks :)

SmartRipper is a very easy, small programme. If you can't find something to convert the vobs it gives you, try Kingdia DVD ripper - that converts as well. So does Amigo DVD ripper. I use SmartRipper because it's fastest and I can work with the raw vobs to make my music vids.

I already have the vobs, it's going the other way to make them into an avi or similar that I can't seem to find. But I'll go and have a look at the others you mentioned, thanks :)
