That was slightly boring actually: McCain seemed to be doing a lot of attacking and Obama seemed to be delivering a lot of content.

Possibly the most interesting bit of the debate revolved around abortion; I am really not sure how from a purely objective standpoint McCain makes any sense whatsoever. (Although I do suppose that from an emotional ( Read more... )

Re: Abortion. He didn't actually say that but he implied it: He opposes a political litmus test on that issue for supreme court candidates, which means any one can apply and he's got the final veto as president. He also said that he disapproves Roe v. Wade.

Which really is quite hypocritical of him as he accused Obama of being "eloquent" and tricky with words. Which is as retarded an accusation you can possibly make.

The 'eloquent' shit is getting him in trouble too. From what I understand about the 'eloquent' bit - I don't know if you'll know this - but back when racial equality was first introduced, something in America that caused a lot of hoo-hah was white folks constantly remarking 'Gosh, you're so well spoken!' to people of colour. This might have been a valid comment in the years immediately following the equality, due to POC hvaing a significantly lower levels of education available to them, but the use of that comment still continued way past that time, until it pretty much became racist code for 'POC don't speak that way - you must have had a white upbringing, because 'normal' POC aren't capable of *insert something suitable here ( ... )
