$7.77 Ficlets

Mar 15, 2011 18:01

I'm going to be extremely busy in April so I can't participate in help_japan , but I'll write a short ficlet here for anyone who sends $7.77 to the Red Cross disaster relief fund. You don't necessarily have to send the money to Japan (there was a quake in Yunnan, China as well!), but since I lived in Fukushima (i.e. earthquake/tsunami/nuclear central) for ( Read more... )

Saw this and immediately did the $10.00 text-to-donate to the Red Cross. (Probably won't be the last of the donations I make!)

Prompt:

Either

Waya, Isumi, hair (Hikaru no Go)

or

Anthy, Utena, paths crossing (Shoujo Kakumei Utena)

Honestly, though, I'd enjoy just about anything from either of those fandoms.

Space Opera

Utena decided one day that she did not want to be a prince on a white horse. She wanted to be an astronaut in a white spacesuit flying on a white shuttle to the white moon.

She was flying through the stars on her white shuttle one day when she happened to glance out her window at the dead black sky. In the dead black sky she saw a castle, an upside-down castle, floating there like it had some business with her.

“Why, hello,” she said to the castle. “Have I met you before?”

Then she realized the absurdity of her question and the absurdity of her imagination, and the castle disappeared.

So Utena continued her lonely hero’s journey.

As she steered her lovely sleek white shuttle into the docking bay of the space station Kibou, she remembered a dream she’d once had of dancing in space surrounded by flowers with her arm around the loveliest rose of them all-- the rose of the earth, which could prick her with its thorns, or brush her skin with its soft red petals and bring her the greatest delight ( ... )

I love it! It was time Utena took to the skies.

(Wondering what Anthy's up to in the Delpha quadrant...)

Whew, glad you liked it! This is a very weird fic to come out of my brain. But then Utena is pretty wonderfully weird, so.

(Anthy has to go fight curry aliens! Maybe)

Does it count if I already donated? Doug and I sent a $50 check to the American Red Cross, earmarked for Japan.

ETA: The pps about Japanese news is both awe-inspiring and saddening.

For you I'll make an exception! Whaddya want?

I like to take the survival tips as awe-inspiring. There's really something to be said for the Japanese ganbare/gaman spirit.

♥ Love you, thanks. You know me, Isumi/Yang Hai always makes me happy, but Isumi and ANYONE is fun and good.

The last time you requested Isumi from me I had Brad Kid hitting on him. This is awesome request! ...Just give me some time to think on it.

I'm going to be trying my hand at help_japan but it's my first time in a fandom/charity auction and I'm a bit nervous that I'll get it wrong. :p Like, how do I prove I've made the donation, or what will be the timeline for writing fic, or should I post up multiple comments vs. "top five get a fic" or whatever, or whether I should specify what I'll want in my comments, or... gah!

I'll figure it out somehow. I intend both to donate and to produce some fic, so here's hoping it all ends up okay.

I totally know what you mean, it's so intimidating looking at the instructions for help_japan! That's part of the reason I decided to just do my own thing on my journal. I have no patience for reading instructions! (LOL I did a technical writing Co-op job once) And I also wanted to get some donations going sooner rather than later.

I'm sure you'll be fine with the process though. Just copy what everyone else does. :D

IS NOT MY FAULT. HARDLY ANYONE WRITES SLAM DUNK ANYMORE. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO REMEMBER THAT THE FANDOM WAS ONCE MORE THAN JUST A BEAUTIFUL DREAM OF MINE.

REQUEST SLAM DUNK NOW.

M going to make a donation of a couple of hundred. Does that mean my fic will be miles long? :D

Miles long joke aside, may I be that bold to request a Rurouni Kenshin fic of Kenshin x Tomoe pairing. If not, HKG time-travel fic will be fine.

Hm, I have never tried to get into Tomoe's head before. She is kind of scary. But I will gamely try.

HKG = Hikaru no Go?

Yap. As for Tomoe, there are not many fics out there which expresses her charm, stoicism and love for Kenshin openly. T_T
