I said I’d update here and I'm going to keep to that promise. I apologise in advance for the complete lack of drama =) I've stuck it behind a cut because I ramble on a little.
Wow now that is an update! Sounds like everything's going well for you - any idea what you're going to do after your Masters? [The dreaded question I know, and I apologise for asking it as I know the fear it inspires... but I'm nosy =P]
And the paragraph you quoted really does ring true, made me laugh a lot - I think I'll look out for that book, it sounds like my kind of novel [huge, footnoted, complex] so it shall be added on to my mile long reading list. Your last film beats mine, which was Bulletproof Monk. I couldn't tell you a single thing that happens in it...
Good luck with your thesis! Sounds like an interesting place to do it =] xx
It's the million dollar question =) After seeking advice from my thesis supervisor I've applied for funding for a PhD on the politcal and methodological possibilities of urban interventions (a sort of creative/ artistic praxis) so that's one option which I'm excited about. But funding is a lottery. I have the chance to go back to Navtech which is an enjoyable, and somewhat idiosyncratic job, but offers lowish pay. I have a possible internship lined up at Hewlett Packard. In answer to your question, I'm not sure. I was chatting to a mate the other day and they suggested I just come up with some imaginative stock response to the question =p I was thinking of just telling everyone I'm going to become a pet detective...
