Yay, thanks for the recommendation! Sad that you're too busy but RL is great too. (Certainly been there with MUSHing, where I was working/busy too much.)
Road to Amber is a perfectly good mush, friendly people and good rp. Though the setting ultimately didn't do much for me so I'm not really around anymore. (I do like Among the Stars, a rare mush that's long-established without being stale, but that would be Trek and not Fantasy.)
Hmmm I'm not really into the Trek universe or I'd check it out. I *do* like SF but just can't see myself playing in Star Trek, which makes no sense to me because I used to pretend it a LOT as a kid.
Aaah, I miss MUSHing too, but Amber never did really interest me, so RtA just hasn't drawn me in. I'll be interested to read any other posts here to see if people have other suggestions. :)
If I MUSHed at all, I'd consider Road to Amber. I've never MUSHed, although I knew a lot of people who did. My online rp is all journal games and pbems.
I used to do PBEMs but I find that nowadays I just completely lack the focus for the kind of pacing you get in journals/PBEMs. It's frustrating because the level of detail is actually pretty great, but I tend to either lose the thread between turns, or get overwhelmed by turns. So hard for me to hit the right balance!
My WoW play was actually largely backed by IC journals from many of the involved characters, which worked very well as a supplement for me. I love letters/journals as a technique and wish I could sustain them for the whole game.

Wooo! I think it's pretty one-handed compatible; I used to do lots of long slow scenes while working back in the day. So what if we only posed five times each? Still a satisfying scene in backscroll. ;)
I'll post when I'm spinning up; right now I'm still so flat that I can't really concentrate on anything.
