Don't take this personally, but, what the fuck is with people getting married so young and stupid? I actually thought about asking my ex to marry me once or twice when we were together. 1.5 years and I thought it was it, but, well, it wasn't it. And that's why I'm glad I didn't ask her; because 1.5 years probably wasn't enough. Never mind the fact that she was my first girlfriend.
The rolling of the eyes, the snide comment, these are not good things. And, like, your sister person, she's 20; why does she want to sign away her freedom that much?
I don't know Jessie very well. I never lived with her, so I'm not sure about the reasons why she's deciding to marry so soon. I can only guess. These may or may not be contributing factors

As much as we disagree over marriage....bienvenidaSeptember 3 2003, 20:49:12 UTC
I really think there should be a minimum age set, just as we do for any other "adult" behaviour. There are just too many people using marriage as an escape from their present life situation, or those that think "playing house for real" would be "cool".
You can send people for pre-marriage things all you want, but when you are 20, you still think with your head in the clouds, and really don't have the maturity to understand what really lies ahead.
Of course, I was 23 and not yet out of University when I was married (22 when I got engaged). I think it's working out pretty darned well. I count it as one of my better life choices thus far.

How about the age of 65?
I think by then, I, at least, will be an adult. The air is a lot fresher up here among the clouds anyway.
