I walked into the grandparent's living room, and Dad was sitting in the recliner. He said, "Hi. Oh, I don't think I told you yet, but Jessie is getting married."
I said, "Yeah?"
He laughed nervously and continued on. Apparently, he isn't exactly thrilled about his 20 year old daughter not yet out of college getting engaged. He said at least four times that afternoon, "When she was telling Jan and I on the phone, I couldn't think of anything to say. I was shocked." This is her second boyfriend.
After a bit of him and the others discussing this, my cousin Kelly comes over with her boyfriend to announce that they too are getting married. She was complaining that things for the marriage where very difficult to get just right, and she even sent her engagement ring (something other people who saw it described it as monstrous). The boyfriend kept saying things like, "You know how women are" while she kept rolling his eyes at this.
They also said that another cousin, Justin, is getting married.
Just so you know the turmoil my life is in. ;)
