I think people being overly positive are the same people that'll be overly positive about their hometown team winning. It's a great release. I really don't think many rational people expect this to be easy.

There's flakes, but there's always flakes:)

I agree ;) I am on cloud 9...and I am thrilled others are too(!)...I just worry that with a such a high there can be unrealistic expectations.

Anyways, my main point I guess is that I just want to urge people to take more responsibility for their lives (& for their country) and not expect others &/or the government to fix it all for them. ie Be a part of the change you want to see!

eh, I guess I was raised to believe that their are no hand-outs in life, no quick-fixes...

For ex. You volunteering to help voters is a step in the right direction! You gave a shit...and your efforts paid off ;)

Eh, people are already chilling out when he brought in Emmanuel as his chief of staff. A lot of people ALREADY don't like it, but this is a guy that can get shit done, and as long as he's following Obama's agenda I think it'll be great. I wouldn't wanna hang with this fella, but if I needed someone in my corner who could pull stuff off and knows the way the White House works, he's the man.

Vision plus experienced staff = results...hopefully:)

I especially agree... tricstmr November 6 2008, 02:51:22 UTC
.. about your take on the whole "second coming" thing...

I've never seen him act as if he thought he was.. He doesn't go around seeking adulation, but always turns things around to tell the people that they are what's really important..

He doesn't say "I can." He says "We can.."

That's not Messiah complex.. that's a leader..

Exactly! You get my point...

Also, the use of 'we' I think is very important...he is trying to get the people involved in their own destiny...which is my other point!

> And you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the new White House.

Totally cried a little bit at this part.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I really like the part about the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy. It's the "Obama within" that matters!

Nice to hear from you...I thought you got sucked into a black hole or something. Anyways, if you get a chance log into lj and check out my Halloween costumes (most of my lj entries are friends only)...I think you'll like them...they are both nerd-y and sci-fi!!
