I’ve figured out what I like. And that’s half the battle. It might be more than half the battle, only the more you start talking about what fraction of the battle it is, the less meaningful it becomes. Everyone understands half the battle. Nobody understands 5/8ths of the battle. Nobody even knows what the battle is or what constitutes winning or ( Read more... )

I like:

when someone notices me a while after i've entered a room and breaks into a huge smile

when people remember little facts like what kind of chips are my favourites

warm rainy days / sun showers

when it snows just right and looks like we're all inside a snowglobe

when people say they'll do things, and do. like the day after they promise.

All this, I know.

have a beautiful day

or maybe it's not that people don't CARE about the good things, but that the good things don't get in their way or distract them from doing/feeling how they want - so they don't take note of them the way they do the BAD things which inhibit them from experiencing various positive things. I think it's like this (not that): You notice the bad things when you DO have them, and you notice the good things when you DON'T.

Anyways, I like the way your minds works.

Like good health, perhaps - you only appreciate it when you don't have it. Good point, but it's sort of too bad that we're wired that way. Doesn't it seem silly that we only realize what a great feeling it is to not be sick when we are sick?

Here's a paradox for your mind to chew on: what IF I take an extreme pleasure in disliking both minorities and disabled people, but not those who are both?
If you entertained the thought that you know the answer, even for a split second, then you are so far from being right that you would have to hop on a ray of light and travel for 15 years and then make the connecting flight in Moscow to even be close to being wrong.
