Transformers 2: The Search For a Cohesive Narrative

It occurred to me that my short blurb on Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen was a little too short and not entirely informative.  I blame the fact I saw it at midnight and then got home at three in the morning, meaning I wasn't at my most coherent.  After seeing the movie a second time at a much more reasonable hour of the day, I feel I can ( Read more... )

Could be worse, my second viewing was at the Udvar Hazy IMAX, and while that did add a certain meta-factor to the experience, it didn't really improve the experience.

It didn't help that I went in expecting to see some added scenes that would clarify some of the film's bigger plot holes (where did the Fallen come from? Where did the twins disappear to after fighting Devastator? How did archaeologists not discover a giant alien whatsit under the one of the pyramids? Are they really holding the finale of the movie in the same desert village from the first one?) and was quite disappointed.

Actually, speaking of the IMAX version of the film, I didn't notice anything radically different then the regular theater version. So if you're trying to decide between the two, feel free to let your wallet do the talking.

I already saw the movie at a regular theater. I was slightly tempted to see if the IMAX experience would be better , but since I hated the movie so much, I don't think I'll be wasting any money there.
