Paperlegends BEGINS - Stage 1: Research!!

So I see that quite a few people have paperlegends filters. Is that a thing I need?  Above and beyond just doing cut-tags?  Talk to me about your feelings about filters.  Is the idea to help people avoid spoilers of your fic?  Or to let them skip over the writer's block agony?

Eee, so excited for you! That's fun!

I don't think you need a filter for it. Some people just do it. I have no idea how much I'll use mine, to be honest. I tend not to post stuff behind lock very much.

If by filters you mean tags, then I use them just so that I (and others) can find everything easier, or only things they want to see i.e. a certain fandom. But if you mean the LJ cuts then I'm not using them cause I'm not planning on posting any spoilers so I don't feel they're needed. However if my post gets too long, then I include them just to save people from excessively scrolling :P

By filters, I meant custom friends lists that people set up so that a certain post is only seen by those people. Apparently multiple do this for Paperlegends? I dunno if I want to, though.

I'm very exited about this fic, and I can't wait til I have the time to really start writing!

Ooh I see now! Please excuse my LJ ignorance :P I can see why people do it - some see their paperlegends musing and ranting as private, and don't want the 'general public' to see it, whereas completed stories and stuff are just, well, stories, and so those posts are left public. I was considering filtering stuff myself, but I don't use my journal as a private ranting place etc. etc. nor do have many friends, so it doesn't really make a difference haha ^^; (I'm a loner XD)

But yeah, god, there's going to be so many amazing fics come August! I can't wait~
