The younger nightmare wasn't even sure himself why exactly he had agreed to this; even after talking with his predecessor again, he had still been on the fence about actually actually going through with the visit.

But....really. Free beer was free beer. Better to take it with someone who didn't give damn at all about his problems--as far as he knew--than with someone who would only offer empty pity and useless attempts to "try and help". Drinking until he forgot about it altogether was a much preferable alternative, and far less frustrating in the long run.

Plus, there was the off chance of being able to pick a fight and blow off some steam while he was at it. Thinking on it, that was probably half the reason he even took the offer to begin with. And maybe a partial contributing factor to only finally showing up some twenty minutes later. At least his predecessor wasn't hard to pick out of a crowd.

Fortunately the Corinthian’s successor was just as easy to pick out of a crowd and that made it easy to signal his twin subtly. He had no intention of yelling over anyone or waving his arms over his head like a maniac and he was sure he’d been spotted. He was also unaware of his twin’s intention to attempt to pick a fight with him, not the reason he solicited the other Nightmare, but if provoked he would take the other up it. Leaning against the wall beside the door the Corinthian raised an eyebrow at his delayed twin and smiled wryly at his twin, “it took you long enough to make up your mind…shall we go inside?”

His twin got a brief nod in acknowledgment, but once he made it up to the other nightmare he only brushed past and entered the building.

"That's the reason I came, isn't it?" The number of people already inside earned a slight frown, the Corinthian still unused to such large crowds, but he made his way to the first open bar seat he spotted, fully expecting his predecessor to follow.

He watched his twin sweep past as though he were really entering the bar by himself and hadn’t received an invitation from the older Nightmare at all. Who the hell was paying for the drinks anyway? He shrugged it off, pretty sure his successor’s pride had taken some kind of blow by accepting his offer which was satisfying enough for him to follow the other into the bar and take a seat beside him. The crowds didn’t really bother the elder of the two as much, he’d grown used to them over the past forty years. Though in the beginning it wasn’t easy breaking those barriers of isolation and developing more social behaviors, “takes practice,” he said nodding to the crowded room, “I hope you’re not too out of your comfort zone ( ... )
