I'm sick

Of hearing about the cliche vegetarian's moral crusade explanation for why they have given up eating animal flesh. I don't give a shit what you eat. I just want you to realize that your diet is hurting living things. More than if you continued to eat meat. Or began to support free range animals and boycott bovine growth hormone instead. I'd have to say I agree...even though, ya, I am a vegetarian (and I'm really starting to hate that word) But I didn't become a vegetarian thinking that I was going to save the world or save all the happy little farm animals and the environment. I know that no matter what I eat it will somehow be linked to hurting or killing an animal (and the environment) and hey, that sucks, but that's how the world is. I'm no saint. I became a vegetarian since having all my pets around me so much that eating meat just started to make me nauseas and I needed a serious change in my diet before I gained another ten pounds from Burger King ( ... )

I think the labeling is a definite issue. If anyone offers me meat I just say no thank you. I don't want to say "NO I'M A VEGETARIAN" because then I sound like a total douchebag. When I first stopped eating meat I did feel really good about it though and it is empowering to have the will power. It's just like if someone stops smoking after doing it every day for twenty years. It's a nice feeling but I don't need a shirt declaring it.
I wouldn't say it's crippling either, for me, mainly because my diet is just SO many times better now. I seriously lived off of the BK Value menu before and now I make everything myself at home and it's really opened up my mind to such great food. I had enough heart problems as is so pounding down whoppers wasn't helping.
