A death drabble

Mar 20, 2008 19:00

Thanks to Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, which I finished last week, and secretsolitaire's pom-pom waving, I was inspired to write some death of my own.

It is Brian/Justin and it is death.

Oh. You did this so beautifully. Every word is just perfectly chosen and placed. I knew you could do it. ♥

Suit ruined, throat raw.

You don't have to show us Brian on his knees in the grass, or let us see his tears, or play out a whole melodramatic scene. It's all in four words.

oh fuck yes, regrets

I can hear Brian's voice so clearly here -- and see how much he's changed since we first see him on the show.

As the river pours in, Brian thinks, perhaps now, they’ll be close enough to whisper.

No words.

A masterpiece. The best death fiction I've ever read.

Thank you! I'm so glad I screwed up the courage to do this.

Debbie's wig. For me, it was one of the saddest things in the drabble. I saw it as her ultimate mourning.

Thank you for the rec. It was totally unexpected and warmed me all the way down to my toes.

You lost me here....LOL!

I have something in store for you. Just you wait. OMG, don't look up! ;)

My intent in including this was to show Ted's response to loss in typical outlandish Ted fashion, but you're right if you dwell on it too long, it flubbers in the wind!

Justin can go on but Brian can't.

I agree.

Thanks, Maureen. ♥
