A death drabble

Mar 20, 2008 19:00

Thanks to Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, which I finished last week, and secretsolitaire's pom-pom waving, I was inspired to write some death of my own.

It is Brian/Justin and it is death.

Beautiful! Poignant, and so full of love. Thank you for indulging my one fic addiction :)

Thank you, Steph! I completely forgot that we share a love of death fic. I am so glad you liked it!

Shit. I didn't get the last two lines until, like silent_seas said, I read it twice.

You use words to create pieces of Brian and Justin art that I feel very privileged to read.

What a beautiful thing to say. Thank you so much.

Those last two lines were rather cryptic, especially because it was an entirely different setting. Those darn 100 words!

*worships at your feet* This is just breathtaking. Normally I don't read death fics, but the poetry of this transcends the depressing nature of mortality and totally befits the B/J love.

He stops visiting by accident: bridge conditions, the reflexes of a middle-aged man.

As the river pours in, Brian thinks, perhaps now, they’ll be close enough to whisper.

I don't think I've ever come across more wonderfully constructed sentences as those two ♥

Do you have any idea how much this feedback means to me? Just know that I had to sit down, after I read it. Thank you. ♥

Omigod, flashfly, that is just drabbling at its best, with not a spare word, just impact.

Thank you so very much. FanSee, having difficulty with the lump in her throat.

Thank you, FanSee! I worked for six days on this one, draft after draft, and to hear that it's 'drabbling at its best' means the world.

My. God.

I didn't want to read this, because death drabble, but it was you so I HAD to. And then, it's subtle and starkly beautiful and the last two lines KILLED ME. Like, literally, I went to work after reading this and it was CRAZY BUSY because of the holiday and the phones are ringing off the hook and I'm sitting there HOURS after I've read it still thinking about it. You impress the HELL out of me. Jesus.

You know what I did after I read your feedback? I picked up my cell and called a friend and read it to her over the phone! I just had to share my joy. Thank you for this. ♥
