Okay I just read the news story. I cannot BELIEVE he had a $15,000 bail just for having an out-of-state license! I'd hang on to my Illinois license, too, Cali ones are weird (they bend!).

Ikr? And it's so funny because it may actually be the lamest thing to get arrested for ever. Also hilarious given that my dad was driving around here on a UK license for six years before anyone actually noticed, and even then, the police were just like, "omg, it'll take you thirty seconds to get a new Australian one".

And they can bend? Seriously? How? Aren't they just little pieces of plastic?

They're the size of a credit card here. California ones are flexible. That way, if someone can break it (you could totes break an Illinois one), they know it's a fake ID. Even the new IL ones are thinner and more bendy, though. California ones can be like bent in half and not snap.
