Picwar-th! The Seventh. Being an egregious abuse of flora everywhere. And of Arashi.

lockability and I have made it to the seventh installment of the Picwar-th!!!

For those of you who need a recap, or just to catch up:

Locky and I are picspamming each other with the ridiculous, the dangly and the absurd of JE costumes. Locky has graciously ceded me the territory of Arashi, while she is trying to adequately represent pretty much the rest of JE. Rather than straight escalation, we have also been picking up (to some extent) on the thematics of the last volley to help us choose the subject of the next assault.

The results so far?

Pimp Cowboys, Jungle KAT-TUN, Uncle Sam, Wonder Woman!, Aiba's garter, and finally Giant moths attack News!

. . .

Ok, so maybe moths, mutant or otherwise, didn't attack News, but that was the only explanation I could find for this:

Where to go from there . . .

So . . . from the last attack, I decided to pick up on random floral motif and ridiculous T shirts! (Which also each feature crazy flowers, since the amount of insane flora on the suits wasn't enough):

From the 2004 Summer Iza tour:

But you see, distant shots don't really give the full impact of this particular sartorial disaster. Oh no. For that, you need to get up close and personal:

I . . . don't even know what to say. Except that I actually can't keep track of how many different floral patterns there are in these costumes. I keep losing count at around 7. But they're all terrible.

My grandmother's couch would turn up its brown, orange and harvest-gold nose in disdain at any of these patterns.

Which leads me to wonder again: Where the hell does JE find these patterns? On the island of misfit fabrics? In an insane asylum? I don't even know.

Ohno is still adorable. But it's hard to focus on him amid all the clashing patterns.

Jun tries to work it. But in this outfit . . . not so much. He still looks like a color-blind used car salesman named Herb.

I swear he looks like he's trying to flip off the designer in this picture. Those orange flowers on the side . . . >_<

How in the hell did they fit so many different clashing patterns into one suit??

Also, in this pic, you can see that there are large, coin-sized sequin/bangles on the suit too. They kind of look like polka dots in this light. Um, you know, because the suits weren't busy enough already.

I can't decide if this suit is revenge by the staff for one of Nino's pranks, or if it incited one of his pranks.

. . . Probably both.

About the only good thing to be said about Aiba's version is that the strategic use of the marginally less awful green shiny plaid means that there are only about 6 clashing patterns in his outfit. Others do not get off so lightly.

I'm just going to shut up for a while and let you bask in the full horror:

Check out the lining! They're reversible!

And here's the view from the back:

This outfit does, however, have a few redeeming points.

First, it apparently confers the power of flight upon its wearers.

Second, in their desperate bid to distract fans from the truly hideous nature of their costumes, Arashi members really ratchet up the fanservice while wearing them:

How about some Sakuraiba?

Or . . . if that doesn't suit your fancy, how about some Aimiya?

And of course, some obligatory OhMiya:

. . .

Nino kind of gets around in this set . . .

Oh, another good thing about this outfit is that eventually, they lose the jackets. Their t-shirts all have flowers on them too. Also, sequins, metallic embroidery, and rhinestones. You know, so you won't be bored.

At first, I had thought Aiba had avoided the flowers, but no. Look closely at the embroidery:

You know why Nino looks so happy in this picture?

Did I mention how Nino really gets around in this performance?

So I guess the real question is this: Does the blatant appeal of fanservice make up for the truly deplorable nature of this costume?

I . . . kind of think it does ^^"

So Boy gifted me with a Wii!

But that's not the real reason I love him . . .

When I got home from my walk today, he had made a Mii for each member of Arashi \o/ Really good ones!!! So I have little Arashi avatars running about my Wii system, ready to cheer me on in the stands when we play the Wii sports. How awesome is that?? I. Love. My. Boy. Lots.

&hearts

I'll be making a separate post for this tomorrow, but I just wanted to say thank you to my awesome splendiferous flist, who have made me feel really loved and happy all day&hearts You guys are really wonderful&hearts!!

Having devoured lemon cake, we are moving on to baking brownies to eat with ice cream \o/
