What I did on my LA vacation.

So, stoney321 were in LA for a long weekend. We did many lovely things, including talking ourselves silly about writing and life. There was, um, some other stuff, too. Here are a few (big) pictures - with a location spoiler through Glee 4x02:

We'd made a decision not to connect with fandom at large so that we could dedicate the time we needed to working on our big writing projects, but I honestly kept thinking of you! Next time!

Ah, that makes sense. :-)

It was the right decision, especially given that we still didn't get to cover everything we wanted to, but it was a writing retreat as well as a vacation, and we had to give ourselves the time. :)

There is not a scale that can measure my jealously right now but that trip sounds amazing!

Sorry about the jealousy; I almost didn't post anything, because I didn't want people to feel like I was rubbing their noses in it, but I do love to share the squee!

I am so happy for you that I have tears in my eyes. I'm even happy about the greek yogurt and muffins that you had for breakfast.

You were near Kurt, meep, squee, sob.

When you are rested, I would love to hear about Max Adler in more detail. He's my favorite of the people who are not Kurt/Chris.

I am sorry there were fangirls. sigh. We have them in our fandom too. They make everything so much harder. I know we were not like that back in the day. grrr

The puppies are kicking my butt but I hope to get back on some kind of reading schedule soon.

Welcome home. :)

Stoney talked to Max more than I did, but he was a DELIGHT. Sweet, caring, and just lovely. He was great on stage, too.

Last year there were mostly families and LA people; this year was definitely fangirl-heavy, and it was a very different tone. I'm happy for the YSF that they got the donations, but I'm sorry they lost some of what made the VIP part of the event so nice.

And thank you! It was such a good trip for is, even without the Glee stuff. :)

I'm curious how you handled watching them film, since you tend to shy away from spoilers.

Well, we'd made the decision that getting to visit the set trumped not wanting to be spoiled. :D I also figured that what we'd see would most likely not be anything that I particularly cared about knowing, which ended up being true. (I mean, I like not knowing ANYTHING, but the odds that we'd see a really emotional scene about something that really matters to me were low... and then it would be thrilling to have seen it film.) As it is, I don't know anything that I didn't already know, apart from what Kurt was wearing and a small thematic, non-relationship-related plot detail that I'd already assumed.

I have to ask: did you get to peek out the choir room window?

I didn't stand on anything to peer through it, but I could see through it, yep. :D
