I love Kurt's almost-unacknowledged ambivalence in this. (How do you do what you do? You have such a delicate hand.) His feelings are so distinct and mixed. This creates an amazing foundation for all the good-byes. Kurt is so eager to leave, so wholly and utterly committed to a better life and making his dreams come true elsewhere, he dismisses the thought that he might have any regrets about leaving, but there's something about his perceptions that makes me think he isn't seeing the whole picture. It's going to be interesting to watch him navigate the completely different experiences of his friends and family, who are going to have a huge Kurt-shaped hole in their lives. I also really like the undercurrent in this of Kurt knowing and being known, however imperfectly. His classmates have predictable reactions and mannerisms. I wonder how much it will affect him to be among NYADA classmates who may dislike his mannerisms and proclivities even more vehemently, yet he won't be able to explain away the dislike as cow-town prejudices. This
