with novel_in_90 it doesn't matter when you start. Bear made a point to state it early on that there were no set rules, only writing. Just so ya know :)
I hear you on the tired bit. Take care and rest up.
Works wonders for remembering thigs and you can stick them to the fridge/cabinets/mirrors whatever.
Works for me when I get CRS*
I had to leave a sticky note on the front door so I would remember my suit jacket the other day on the way to an interview! I've been living on tea since we got to broke to even afford the cheap soda from Albertson's. Between the iced tea that's always in the fridge and my beloved hot tea, we haven't had a soda in the house in a month. It would have been longer, but my mom bought a bunch of 12 packs when they were on sale and sent them home with us after Christmas.
Speaking of which... it's time to make more tea. :-)
...I shudder to think how many sticky notes would be everywhere.
Problem with sticky notes:
1) I tend to ignore anything once I've seen it more than a couple of times. It becomes 'part of the background'.
2) I'm forgetting things intrinsic to my likes and dislikes, which makes it difficult to anticipate needing to write a sticky note like~ "Note to Self: You really, REALLY love grape jelly!"
However, the mental image of my having to write out all those notes is pretty funny!
I have some marbles I can send you to replace your brain. Someone else lost them, I found them, but I can always spare a few.
The paint was . . . ehhh . . . that particular shade you want was my last bottle of crappy Deco-Art brand "Dazzling Metallics" paint in Glorious Gold.
I'll cop to that, because NO decent like of art grade acrylics makes a metallic worth sour owl shit!
Behr (as in, Home Depot home-improvement wall-type paint) makes a kind of accent paint that's near the same color and comes in I think one gallon jars. It's more durable and slightly more reflective, but slightly more toward the amber end of the gold spectrum; the Deco-Art stuff is slightly . . . well, greenish.
No apology ness...I think I told you once I've bought about SEVEN gold tubes of paints from various manufacturers, trying to find a decent gold.
I USED to use this gold ink from Scripps, but they stopped making it. I occasionally use Testors "model car" gold on a box or book I make, but I've never used it on an actual painting.
WHY is it so hard to find a decent GOLD?!?
I'll have to see if I can track that stuff you mentioned down.
Well, if you can't find the Deco-Art stuff, let me know.
Actually, I'm hitting Michael's this weekend, and I'm about 98% sure they have it right now. 'Bout how big is the frame you're painting? I can cadge an extra couple bottles while I'm there.
If you find some later on (i.e. before I can leave the house to mail anything), swell, if not, well, I always wind up using it!
As impossibly cute and rambly as this post is, I can't help but think that's how I come across on the rare occasions that I smoke weed (maybe once a year if that).
Similar moments I've had:
I've spent a good 5 - 10 minutes STARING at a font on a webpage or email trying to remember the name or the family that it came from. This is something I wouldn't have had to think about 10 years ago. I just KNEW it.
I was watching re-runs of Star Trek (the original series) and recollected that I used to win trivia contests at Sci Fi cons by "guessing the correct stardate," "knowing how many episodes had real horses in them," and "how many episodes did Spock smile in?"
Sad to say, it's a clear reference for someone so spacey and 'out of it' for at least six people! That poor cat!!
Dione was actually a very SMART cat, but she was also an obvious airhead. I suspicion she was Aquarian. She was the cat with the HUGE imagination, too. She'd play games where there were obvious "pretending" going on, both with herself and with we humans.
Dione was the one where when we passed our favourite BBQ spot (with the Mambo Sauce...yummm! Too bad it's gone out of business), we'd all go: "Miz Dione!! You get yourself home! You've had enough barbecue!"...and when we got home we'd ask her how it was. Elaine, Rhyo, Max, and I all made these references. I really miss the little kitty-kid. She was quite a character.
She'd even let us spray whipped cream directly into her mouth, which most cats won't do because of the noise.
When I tell you about "the little black kitty that lives in my head" that is the male character Muir? He's based off of Dione.

Yeah, it's an odd feeing, for sure.
