SPN drabble: on the importance of counting to one hundred

May 28, 2007 14:21

I wrote a drabble for mickeym, because she gets so sad about misuse of the term. Then I looked at what I'd posted and my eyes told me it was 99 words, although Word had told me 100. That's just a mean thing to do to a person. I choose to believe that I'm right and Word is wrong, so this version has a bonus adjective.

You'd think after this many years in fandom, it wouldn't GET to me the way it does. On the other hand, maybe it's because of this many years in fandom, who knows? :)

Thank you, bunches :) It was a nice thing to wake up to :)

You are very welcome. :) And hey, I'm glad some people have the energy left to grumble a bit now and then. (You can probably do this one in your sleep, yes? *g*)

Ummm. Maybe? *smiles winningly*

I guess I should rotate my 'drabble definition' icon back in ;)

Were I to rant, I'd be doing a bit of misuse ranting myself. The whole point of drabbles is to make a hundred words do the work! ::snort::

And there's something about SPN that just demands drabbles. I don't know what it is but I've written more drabbles in this fandom than I've ever written.

And this was 99 perfectly hot words! With an extra hot adjective. *g*

Of all the things rantable out there in the fannish world, the definition of drabble is one I revisit over, and over, and over...and unfortunately I think Torch has lived through seen every one of them *g*

I have a whole "and I suppose you'd call it a sonnet if you manage to make two of the lines rhyme and you mention Abba in it" drabble rant but so far I've only gone live with it. *g*

oooo, and you wrote it in past tense, too. I always default to present tense with drabbles, so I can cheat eke out a few extra words with contractions.

*makes note* I'll have to remember that for next time. Sounds like a good idea. :)

LOL! Boys being boys -- cute and hot. :)

And I'm on the drabble being 100 words bandwagon, too.

Hee, I love this. Both for what it is and for why it was written!
