Love, bad memory, waiting for Dickens, abandon ship, abandon hope, podslash

First of all, thanks to the people who said nice things about me in the anon V-day meme -- I was greatly cheered. Reading through the whole thing cheered me even more. All those people! saying nice things about other people! Yay.

Last night, far from the madding crowd my computer, I composed a witty livejournal post in my head. No, seriously, it ( Read more... )

If you friend an lj for the fiction, and no such fiction is forthcoming, how long does it take you to surrender all hope and defriend again? Two weeks? Two months? Two years?

Depends on their non-fic posts. If it's someone I like and their non-fic posts are interesting, they stay on the flist indefinitely. Otherwise? About 12 months.

I was thinking about whether I had some kind of time estimate, myself, but then I rarely friend people just for their fiction, I think. A year sounds like plenty of time to see if a person has really abandoned their old fandom or is just taking a slight detour. *G*

I should probably add: Or until I leave that fandom. I just did a huge flist cut because I'm not sure I really care if people start posting Spike/Wes fic now.

People stay on my friends-list until they actively annoy or offend me ... it doesn't bother me if they post infrequently, because I don't even really notice. (Unless they post more than 5 times a day about inanities which don't amuse me. Then it's "off with their heads"! *g*)

Also, Title of the story is genius.

Aw, thank you! I'm really glad Tem chose that story to pod as she was responsible for the original inspiration. :)

Off with their heads, hmm? Now I have a strange urge to defriend someone just so I can say that to myself. hee.

When someone can write as well as you do, you don't never get de-friended for lack of fic. Hope springs eternal, and lurker-stalking continues.

Honestly? I have no idea who some people on my f-list are, because I've totally forgotten why I friended them in the first place. But no matter, as long as they are not insufferably annoying they can stay, and it takes a *lot* to annoy me that much :) I think I've only ever unfriended one person, and I'm not 100% sure I actually did that either. I think I have a few journals there that don't even exist anymore :)

Besides, when you don't unfriend and try to at least check out every fic that gets posted on your f-list, you get some unexpected jewels at times :)
