Not really a review, more some questions I have to the people that remember the books better than me. Don't read, if you have not read the books and want to stay unspoiled!
Wait - where are you getting your info?! No Joeffrey choking scene? Is that official? I assumed the purple wedding would come along next season. We have to get Dorne in the picture for starters - and how is the series going to handle the sandsnakes and Dorne?
Yeah - on Shae, I can't see an yway that she would turn against Tyrion, unless he tells her to to somehow protect Sansa...
**Edit - now I know what you mean. Yeah, I had hoped to see that scene, too. They still have to get rid of Theon's dad - which I assume happens before big sis goes off to rescue him. And that scene with big sis was so out of character on so many levels I actually found myself completely thrown out of the show. If she wanted to rescue Theon she should have had him knocked out and his ass dragged home before he set fire to Winterfell.
If Theon wanted to go out in a blaze of stupid glory, she could deal with that. That's the Iron way. Having Theon's junk systematically chopped off so as to blackmail her father into retreat? Yeah, that's not so acceptable.
ShowShae is definitely more complex. Rather than turning down Tyrion (or Vary's) offer to set her up in her own place she's always angling to talk Tyrion into doing that despite his saying that it's dangerous. She also resents the hell out of being a maid and resents the hell out of poor taped Lollys, who she is a maid too (as opposed to being fiercely loyal to Sansa.) Book Shaw is a courtesan and functions accordingly saying what she needs to say and looking out for her own needs first and foremost. Can't blame the girl for looking out for her own skin, but book Shad is definitely a different person than ShowShae.
Book and Show Shae are definitely very different people, I wonder where they will go with her and I like it. I was always disappointed that book Shae did not really turn out to have any deeper motivations.
Yes, you're right about Jamie. That's weird. But I doubt it'll change much?
Even stranger than Jaime arriving in King's Landing before the wedding, Brienne is there while Sansa is still there. What the heck are they going to do with that?!
Yeah, but Tyrion wont touch Sansa. I tend to think he will try to get her to savety somehow (in the book he thinks about marrying her off to some knight) and she will turn on him for that.
It's really hard to tell without giving away too much, because the differences are mainly interesting in connection with events that have not happened on the show.
What I can say is that Shae's storyline is different. In the book she is not handmaiden to Sansa but to a mentally disabled noble girl, who they have thankfully cut out in the show (she is gang raped in the King's Landing riots, where Sansa was nearly raped on the show). Since you only ever see Shae from Tyrion's POV, that scene with Varys from the last episode is not in the books either.
With Jaime and Brienne it's mostly their time of arrival. They are in King's Landing way earlier than in the book.
At least most of the book/show spoiler talk will be over next season. After book three there are not so many game changers anymore, imho.

I doubt that she would turn on Tyrion about Sansa, she likes her too and she knows Tyrion is not going to sleep with her.
I thought that Yara's to the rescue scene was a bit weird too, but then she is the only one with real guts in the family.

In fact, I'm very interested in how the show has differed from the books and would love to know more, but I also don't want to be spoilered.
Tricky.
