My husband will board a flight in Long Beach around 11:55pm (ET) tonight and be home before I leave for work tomorrow morning. Golly have I missed him.

In other news, my daughter and I took advantage of his absence to decide what he's getting for Father's Day and do the necessary shopping. Smug, you betcha!

I'm eating my lunch, reading _The Accidential Time Machine_ by Joe Haldeman and watching NASA TV on my computer. For someone who got the lowest possible passing grade in Physics, that sounds terribly nerdy.

Sigh. I like NASA TV. I wish they'd show more of the capture of the Hubble Telescope.

For Mother's Day, I woke to a pancake and bacon breakfast! MMMMM! We went to church and the carillion choir rehearsed for our ringing "Panis Angelicus" during the service. Today is not a bad day--I've finished with the meetings scheduled for the day and planned a birthday lunch for two co-workers next week. (Actually, one has her birthday today, but I wasn't in yesterday to plan, so after she approved, she will share the lunch with the other co-worker whose birthday is next week.) Saturday tends to be a fairly lazy day around our house. The kid gets to watch her two hours of TV in the morning and Mom gets to sleep in (9:30 this morning!). At some point, the radio goes on. My Mom is one of those people who are "difficult to shop for". She never wants anything and would rather no one made a fuss. But, this year, she was heard to say that she wants something specific.
