It has been ages since I last posted and there have been several memorable experiences, but I'm not going to try to catch up now. Instead, I'll mention our next upcoming memorable experience

My trip with Lisa last year was the opposite direction and we were diverted on the northern route through Wyoming, but even that was wonderful. I hope you have a great time!
Even if we were to get diverted this time (and I doubt we will), we are planning to to take a similar trip next year to Westercon. The differences are:
1. We will be taking the Cardinal from Washington to Cinncinati, stopping over for Midwestcon, and then continuing on to Chicago. (I'm a little nervous about our connection in Chicago since the Cardinal has been known to run quite late on occasion, and we have less connect time in the schedule than on the upcoming trip.) 2. We will have and accessible bedroom for the entire trip so Judy can keep her wheelchair with her. (The Zephyr accessible bedroom was sold out for our upcoming trip.) 3. We have a ticket on the Capitol Corridor route (unreserved) from Emeryville down to San Jose as part of our reward redemption which we can also use if it is convenient for us. (That may depend on whether the Zephyr runs too late on our day of travel.)
