Today was rough. My first day by myself. I'm still slow, so, though it wasn't as many racks to change as I've been doing, it still took a long long time cuz it was only me. I need to find the right balance between speed and thoroughness. By the end of the day, I was running so behind, that I had to just skim for my P.M. checks, and my trainer was ( Read more... )

Hey April!
I'm bored so I thought it would be nice to leave you a comment since I do read my friends' ljs every day ha. I'm so glad to hear you got a job, but what exactly do you do..i'm guessing you work in a lab with creatures? I hate mice :( but I know u love them ha. Altho jumpy sounds like he would make a good pet. Sounds like everything is working out for you and I'm sure that u'll get fast with the job as you learn more little tricks to do everything. Hope all is well and maybe we will be able to meet up sometime when I am home and you are home!

So what exactly do you do in your job?

The main part is checking to see if any mice in my room look sick or injured, or to see if anyone has a leaky water bottle. And then I get to change cages on the designated racks for the day. As of right now, that takes up the majority of my day (other small stuff includes making water, and getting cages, and stocking stuff, and cleaning up my messes). :o)
