Nodame Cantabile owns my face. Here are 8 reasons why.

1. NODAME. CHIAKI. Crackiest, most wonderful(ly bizarre) OTP ever. They are such ultimate opposites it's incredible. He's so by-the-book, cool, neat and organized and so good at everything he does. She's unfortunate and all over the place and the messiest person ever, even when she plays; ( Read more... )

I KNOW. Oh my goodness. He's just so enormously pretty. I don't blame Nodame in the least for her quick falling in love with this guy.

This show makes me hope I'd actually pursued some musical instrument semi-seriously (I sort of gave up on everything for my natural lack of musical talent).

I'm not allergic to angst but I favor light/funny dramas so obviously this one is *so* up my alley. Angst? Even that is hilarious! (Every time Chiaki thinks about his airplane fear..)

I loved Nodame Cantabile! It was my first jdorama and barely anyone saw it. I loved Tamaki in it. I agree his WTF faces are amazing. I really love it when Chiaki takes care of Nodame like when he cooks for her and time he blow dried her hair. :)

It was sort of difficult to get what with the *really* large video files and soft subs but gladly someone has uploaded the videos on video sites - I'm sure more people will wath it now that it's finished. I know I'll try to plug it around. (Fuji TV also raided every damn clip of it from youtube which makes it harder for people to find, I guess. :/)

It's my 2nd jdrama and definitely climbing high on my overall favourites list.

I love this couple. They're definitely out of ordinary.

I think the musicality lends itself best in the drama format. Somebody said in a comment to the youtube clip I linked to, "this is better than the anime or manga scenes of this scenes" and I can well believe it. It's an audio-visual thing, those crazy concerts and I also like the look of the actors more. ;)

Yes, this is *so* manga, this drama. And I thought Hana Kimi was over-the-top! Love it, though.

Let me just begin this by saying that this is one of those dramas which make me rush into a discussion of why I love it so much whenever anyone mentions it. However, half-way through I start flailing madly because my love for it is so great that it makes the drama!fan girl part of me take over completely ( ... )

I'm so with you re: musicality. I prefer cheesy pop or indie rock to anything with violins/orchestras but I'm so so into the classical music in Nodame - it makes classical music cool, and not just with Mine's "rock" moves. The orchestra/music scenes are my favourites besides the OTP moments - and thus far, the orchestra scenes have been *better* than the OTP scenes (Chiaki hasn't fully warmed up to Nodame yet!). I'm actually considering acquiring the soundtrack or something.

I was innocently oblivious to Tamaki's hotness before watching. Hot Japanese men are a fully uncharted territory for me.

Hee, hello! :D

Especially the last concert at the end. Oh GOD the end! It owns me so HARD. What with the manly crying, and the "rock moves", and GUH! I watched this and wanted to BE in an orchestra. And like I said, I am not a very musical sort of person, which, okay, I understand would really make this something hard to accomplish. But who cares! I'd settle for playing the kazoo.

OMG I finished it!! (Good thing I did before reading this comment!)

I was cheering for them to do all those S-oke things and then they did them and I was *overjoyed*, enjoying it so much. Other really good bits were whenever Nodame and Chiaki played together and the S-oke performance and the 2nd S-oke performance with Nodame's pianika.

The last ep was full of amazingness in general, too, though, like Chiaki's trip to her hometown and him clinging onto her (<3) and him meeting her family (hilarious!).

So much love for this show.

I love Nodame Cantabile too! Everything about the show was perfect for me! Everyone did such a great job in making these really wacky characters believable and lovable. I definitely loved the secondary characters, maybe almost as much as nodame/chiaki. (Eita's character? Oh my god. So much love for him!) And number 2? After I finished the show I went and downloaded all of the songs used in it. I keeping hoping (against all logic) that they'll end up doing a second season, because the show was just so fantastic. And I'm totally in love with Tamaki Hiroshi. But that's beside the point.

Yeah, it's amazing how the wacky characters who I thought might be too much for me, even as a lover of goofy, comical characters, they totally turned out to be very lovable and likable. My initial reaction to Mine and Masumi was really weirded out, "Their hair styles are just ...WTF?!" but I love those two now! Especially Mine, yep, Eita does a good job.

Eee, I haven't seen the ending yet. I hope it doesn't *demand* a sequel because otherwise I'll be disappointed that one won't be made. Or that one might not be made.

Tamaki Hiroshi.. Yeah, I'll second the love. I haven't drooled over/been this in love with a drama lead since I watched the kdrama My Girl. I've seen attractive drama leads since then but this guy makes my eyes pop out.

Ahhh, the hairstyles. Just thinking about them makes me laugh. And Masumi's mustache thing? That thing was hysterical!
Speaking of Tamaki Hiroshi, have you watched his new movie, "Heavenly Forest?" It looks kind of interesting, and well, has Tamaki in it, : P

I've seen like, er, 5 Japanese movies. Though obviously if I watch anything, it should have Tamaki in it. ;) Has the movie been subbed? I can only find a Japanese DVD w/o subs.

Masumi's moustache is *so* manga, omg. Whacky whackness. I also hated Mine's hair in the first two eps but now I love it - it looked so FAKE at first.
