I know this is an odd thing to say, but this it probably my favorite fanfic story out there so far, in any fandom.
It's that mix of repelling coldness and the passionate turmoil that is Rehan's character.
He saw a dream where Zooni was holding him and he knew the bomb would go off, and then he just pushed her away. Saved her, even though what he really wanted to do was hold her. Destroy her with him, not care.
Somehow this is so many kinds of right and on-point that I don't even know how to put this into words.
I love the parallels and difference with Meghna and Rehan (and what a clever idea, so illuminating). He is a lot more functional on the outside, but equally damaged inside. Meghna is a foot-soldier and Rehan a mastermind, but really, they are both equally screwed up.
And the language? Beautiful. It almost reads like free-verse poetry.
It is kind of an odd thing to say, especially since I only worked on it for a day (in my head during and then while typing and looking it over) and to me it doesn't feel like best thing I've written. I do enjoy reading it over myself so I'm not saying it's bad but yeah, you feel as you feel. If this piece touched you that much, I'm glad.
Somehow this is so many kinds of right and on-point that I don't even know how to put this into words.Thank you! I see it as a battle of selfishness and selflessness, in a way. I actually started thinking about Dil Se when I wrote that, is Aman selfish for holding Meghna and asking her to say "I love you" just once? Is it selfishness, "you can't die without me, I love you" or is it more, "you can't die, I love you" (even though at that point there is nothing one can do the help it)? It's intriguing, especially in regards of Rehan

I was hoping someone would write a crossover fic! I really like the parallels between Meghna and Rehan since it was one of the things I noticed while watching. It's interesting that he feels superior to her initially since she can't go through with her mission because of love when it is the same thing that prevents him as well. The whole third part is fantastic, but this in particular: He does care - that's the problem. He wants Zooni to be there and yet he wants her away, wants her happy without him, with him, whichever, both. He's made of contradictions. He didn't use to be that way. Things were simple before Zooni came along.
Meghna's is a story of failure and Rehan doesn't want to be a failure, but Zooni is reaching and pulling, dragging him out. Rehan is falling.
He has already failed. Lovely.
You should definitely post at bolly_fics when you finish. :)
I noticed you said you lock your BW rambles, which I'd love to read. We have several interests as well as BollyWHATers in common. Would it be okay to friend you?

Glad you liked the fic. And yeah, it's the sort of sick irony that Rehan hates her for messing it up and then ends up committing the same error.
