There is a flower within my warm heart...

[Despite the slight breeze on the roof that afternoon, the whole area smelt of cigarette smoke. Huey knew smoking helped him think and he had been lost in thought for hours, more than a few used cigarettes lying within the ash tray nearby.]

[Talking to a certain version of Hal had cleared up a lot about his son's and Julie's affair but Papa Emmerich ( Read more... )

[Sunny, obviously, knew nothing about the topic that Huey was thinking of but the little girl would never pass up a chance to spend time with her grandpa Huey. So when she peeked up onto the roof and spotted him, she gleefully skipped over and stood next to his wheelchair innocently, casually turning back and forth, watch the skirt on her dress twirl a bit.]

[Huey blew out some smoke, his ears hearing someone approaching him. He turned his head and rare genuine smile appeared on his face.]

Hello, my little Sunbeam.

[The silver fox stubbed out his cigarette, suddenly feeling a little bad that him, and the entire roof, smelt like heavy smoke.]

[Once the cigarette is snuffed out, Sunny climbs onto his lap and hugs him tightly before kissing his cheek. Something about his nickname for her just brightened everything up for her.]

Hi grandpa Huey.

[The smell of cigarette smoke doesn't bother her all that much. Before she had started living with Uncle Hal and Snake, she definitely would have wrinkled her nose at the smell.]

[The man hugged her back and ruffled the hair atop her head affectionately, chuckling a bit, his mood quite improved by her presence.]

Have you been doing okay? I've missed you.

[And that was a true statement. Sunny was one of the few people in his family that he was on a good terms with.]

Not family, but certainly not a meany. neurotic_insect May 5 2011, 01:54:23 UTC
[The confines of the building were wearing on them more and more as of late, so it was no surprise that Dimitri would make his way up to the roof. That someone was already there was no surprise either, although whom the other person was was a mystery. The psychic could not recall ever meeting someone with such an ornate kind of wheelchair.]

[Walking towards the edge, he waved away the smoke, creating a psychic bubble to keep it away. Much as he sympathized with the need to have vices, he liked his wet.]

I don't think we've met before.

[The man's oceanic eyes looked over at the other man, pausing to stare at the gas mask he had on, wondering why in the world he was wearing that.]

No. I don't think we have. You seem like the type of person who's hard to forget.

[And he shifted his cig to the other side of his lips but didn't stop quite yet.]

But if you want to 'blow your own roof,' feel free to do so. I don't mind.

[Why else would someone be wearing a gas mask?]

[Interesting eye color. Obviously related to the Hal he met, but how so, he was in no particular mood to find out with mind reading.]

[The slightly archaic phrase got him to chuckle and he sat on the edge.]

I don't smoke. I got my fill of smoke inhalation when I was a boy. Drugs like marijuana are best cooked with anyway. It preserves the effect more strongly and prevents smoking related health issues, or so I'm told.

[He felt a little awkward that he had picked the guy out to be a smoker and he wasn't. Opps.]

Oh... Sounds about right.

[Huey had smoked some Chiba Chiba back in the day but he wasn't too much of a fan. Didn't go down quite as smoothly.]

Name's Huey. [Time to change the subject.]

It's not like I have to worry about dying from lung cancer anyway.

[He turned his chair a little, to see which of his many sons he was talking to. Ah. This one.]

Hello, Hal.

[He flinches.] T-that's a little bit morbid, father.

Hello.

Morbid but true.

[His oceanic eyes scanned him over. He was a little happy to see his son, although that didn't show externally.]

Are you doing okay?
