I've always said that the first Iron Man movie was torn between staying true to the Pepper of the comics (possibly and probably the early comics) and between updating her to present standards, which is how we got sassy and spying, but also some pretty classic damsel moments.
(FOR SRS, WHY AM I ONLINE? I SHOULD BE STUDYING. OR DOING LAUNDRY. OR COOKING, EVEN.)
The spying bit was pretty cool (and I won't say anything about Iron Man 2 in case you haven't seen it yet), but yeah, she was very much the damsel-in-distress in both movies.
Fail. I was hoping they'd switch things up a bit in the sequel. (Interestingly, I'm told that comic book canon Pepper eventually gets her very own Iron Man suit. As you can imagine, this has prompted much excited flailing.)
My first impression of 5x22 wasn't great, but I really loved some of the scenes -- the stargazing one being near the top of my list. ;) I'm surprised I haven't come across any wallpapers featuring this scene, so I had to resort to making my own. (I miss having my weekly dose of SPN as well. S6 can't come fast enough!)
Really? You'd think there would've been, like 300 wallpapers made of that scene within a day of the final episode being aired. AND YES PLEASE! SHORTHEMLINE AT GMAIL. TY!!!
Hee♥! Idk why, but I've only drawn them once and it was over three years ago (poor quality is poor because I was scannerless at the time ^^;;).
Stargazing together! Ugh, how much schoompier can they get a;lksdfjd♥♥ I really wanted a wallpaper of that scene and I haven't been able to find any (WHY D:) so I had to resort to making my own.
That's an interesting question. The only other book fandom I'd drawn for was Harry Potter (oh, wait, no -- I think I have sketches for characters from David Eddings's series, possibly?) and I've probably drawn more HP fanart than all my other fandoms combined. In some ways, I find drawing for book fandoms and for live-actor fandoms (anything that includes real people) similar in that I have flexibility in the way I want to depict the characters, as long as I maintain certain distinctive features (e.g. Harry's glasses, Dean's spiky hair). Drawing for anime/manga fandoms was more restrictive, but also easier in many respects, because there's already this pre-existing template for what the character should look like when drawn. With real people, since I shy away from realism for the most part, I get to choose how I want them to look in 2-D. [/rambling]
Your desktop is so pretty (and clean!)! I love the wallpaper you have!
Ah, so that's your music folder! I like it! And I like that you have ficcies in your e-book folder :)
IRON MAN! :D I actually prefered the original to the sequal, I liked Tony's growth in it more, but Pepper really shined in the sequal. She was awesome in the first to me, but she rocked the sequal :) And Natasha = epic win :D
I have to entice myself with pleasing-to-look-at wallpapers in order to keep my desktop from being taken over by folders and files! I need to clear off a couple of the data files still...
I got into the habit of saving fanfics when I started reading them on my iPod. They're not well organized, so I'm going to have a hell of a time finding any fic that I want to re-read. XD;;
There were some really great Pepper moments, but the whole Tony-swooping-in-to-save-Pepper scene in the sequel was too much damsel-in-distress for me. :< Natasha was really quite awesome though, yes -- especially while in action! :D

Also, I need more details before I can decide how I feel about Tony/Jarvis. You should, like, write a little ship manifesto or something :D

Hee! Idk! It was just a vibe, with Jarvis being all adorably snarky when Tony orders him around and, and, *flails*

Hmmm. Do you think it's more challenging (or abstract or liberating or whatever) to draw for book fandoms than for visual-based fandoms?
