Try this one. It's 100x100 and 24KB. I also adjusted the colors a little bit to make it look a little more vintage-y.

LJ's icon maker isn't the best way to make icons. The best way is to get your hands on Paint, Photoshop, or any other graphics program to cut the images down to LJ's standards.

Anyway, I ran the image through Photoshop and got it down to what LJ likes:

Thanks for the heads-up. I usually use the lj icon maker because I'm not very tech-savvy, but shoot, I can handle Paint!

groovy icon!! have you seen the 1978 cartoon version of lotr? i saw it last summer on tv, its pretty cool but i much prefer the realistic versions. i usually take icons that are 200x200 & lj accepts those but it doesn't allow me to use my photoshop though anymore, its weird coz it used to work with no problems. hope you were able to fix it.

I've seen photos of the '78 animation, and I'm curious about it. The character interpretations are so different from the live action films, especially Aragorn! Whoa!
