This is true. I also believe that maybe it's because they do such a good job looking like people, but yet a horrible job acting like one, i.e sick, or diseased, or mentally ill, and normally we as humans feel awkward and nervous around someone with these characteristics. Awfully to say, I know, but it's true. You ever heard of the Uncanny Valley?
Seriously Japan, I know you have lots of awesome robots and are technological superior to EVERYONE, but do you really need to creep us out like that with your crazy sun lotion android commercials?
