That might be nice

Today I defended predestination to a believer in free-will.

My life is a series of ironies.

Seriously, though, things are going pretty well even ignoring the existence of the EVIL CUSTOMERS OF DEWM which plague so many of us who work in jobs involving human interaction. (Have I mentioned, Dan, that I feel your pain? And have you had nightmares ( Read more... )

Optimism is all well and good, but it doesn't give you the whole-hearted satisfaction of the cynicism that pessimism creates.

It's true. Optimism is like a light, fluffy cake--it's good for the occasional dessert, but it's not like the meaty goodness of cynicism.

See, life being good is good. Optimism is bad because, as every first-year physics student knows, what goes up must come down. Life is like a waveform: the higher the peaks, the lower the troughs. (I would have said sine wave, except it's not quite that simple. Think of it as the bastard child of twelve sine waves and the noise on a telephone line.) Perhaps madamoiselle would be interested in our new God (TM) half-wave rectifiers? In combination with the Holy Spirit (TM) amplifier, it produces an asymmetry in the waveform, moderating the low points without ameliorating the heights.

I've had no nightmares about crazy customers, thank God. If I did, then I would probably go chasing them out with swords anyway! Yar!

Sowrds?

No...I'm sure with all these leftover rockets I could come up with something better for them.

Kehehe! Or we could even combine powers and deal out loads of fiery, slashy death! I mean, why leave it to chance that a nemesis could survive?

Darnit, next time I have a Martinizing dream, I'm going to have you two show up in it to chase those darn customers away.
