It was supposed to be a simple mission to go retrieve the fossil finder, after which Tommy had planned to return home, have a hot shower while pondering what to do next, and perhaps ask for more of Jason's advice. No, he certainly didn't see what's currently happening, coming. But past experience whispers in his ear that perhaps he should have.

You know what hurt? The complete lack of an ability to do -anything- to help this. This, paired with guilt over the fact that Jase hadn't been able to stop it, creates a lovely pair of whammies to his heart.

It's later that day, and Jase has watching duty on the hunk of resin that represents Tommy. He keeps trying to busy himself with things - read a book? No, he managed to somehow rip a page out. Build an unnecessary house of cards? It kept falling down, something that never happens to him. Eat, drink, sleep? Yeah, all those failed, too.

He's annoyed. Annoyed at himself, and angry at whoever did this. If he'd only been able to hang onto his powers, maybe he coulda gotten Tommy out of this

It's been long enough for Tommy to regain consciousness and begin tuning out the severe discomfort of his current position. He has no idea how long he's going to be stuck in here, so he may as well learn how to cope with it
