Reefside - The Warehouse District

It was supposed to be a simple mission to go retrieve the fossil finder, after which Tommy had planned to return home, have a hot shower while pondering what to do next, and perhaps ask for more of Jason's advice. No, he certainly didn't see what's currently happening, coming. But past experience whispers in his ear that perhaps he should have. ( Read more... )

It's been long enough for Tommy to regain consciousness and begin tuning out the severe discomfort of his current position. He has no idea how long he's going to be stuck in here, so he may as well learn how to cope with it.

At least he's not suffocating or anything. He can feel his heart beating, and in spite of being surrounded by an inflexible chunk of solid material, he can somehow still breathe. Thirst and hunger seem to be of little concern as well. At least all of this gives him something to ponder while he waits.

Of course, he'd rather not be stuck in this... stuff, at all. But better him than one of the kids. They're a strong group, and they did well enough on their own before he got his own Dino Gem. Besides, they've got Hayley and Jason to help them out until they can figure out a way to free him.

That doesn't mean he feels in any way okay about the fact that poor Jase has to keep an eye on him. In the Lair, well, now he's safe, more or less, unless Trent or Mesogog manage to figure out where the base is. But his Bro is still distressed, that much is clear, and Tommy knows that Jason is probably guilting himself about not preventing the accident, even though there was nothing he could have done. And Tommy can't even tell him that he's okay, or as okay as he can be under the circumstances.

He'd tried to teleport out a while back, but that hadn't worked. He'd tried to move again, and the damn amber hadn't even budged. So now he's just keeping himself as calm as he can, watching Jason through the distortion of the warped golden surface of his prehistoric prison.

-I'm okay, Bro. Really, there wasn't anything you could have done. I'm just glad you're here right now. Even if I can't say anything, it's good to not be alone.-

Tommy's not telepathic, but he feels a bit better for at least thinking the words. He'll thank Jason properly later. In the meantime...

Some days, being a Ranger just SUCKS.
