For the record, I'm trying to post more; I've got a lot on my mind recently, and I've got a journal for a reason. I'm also trying to reply to comments more, which is something I'm bad at - I mostly reply via phone-Gmail*, at work, and it can be hard to keep up with. But anyway, I'm trying to post more consistently. For fun. And profit

What you can do or will do or have planned to do or answer or create or deserve means a whole lot of nothing if you've done it all so goddamned hard that you've forgotten to include yourself in what you've done.

It has been really funny reading some of the responses I've gotten to this (also over private emails) because -- I never before would have pegged myself as "Type A"; I always think of myself as a pretty easy-going, non-ambitious person. I work with some Type As and I am always like, I am not that! But I think in a lot of ways I'm also fooling myself: look at the way I've spent the last 5 years. I can't stop, I don't know how, and I'm pretty sure that has 'Type A' written all over it no matter how much I want to deny it. If nothing else this post has given me some good food for thought (also Salarta's comment above
