I'm sitting on a long post about fanfic that I intend to finish and post later today, but I just got an email telling me that someone from a part of family I'm relatively unfamiliar with has just added me to a family tree.

This is really cool.Of course I can't see it from work because we still use IE6, but I really do think that's kind of neat.

Ooooh! I get such a boner from family trees. I've worked on mine for something like six years now and still get a total hard-on everytime I find another link to another person. That whole 'look up the fucking family' thing is just as addictive as sex and coffee, m'dear, except a bit cleaner.

I've been into the genealogy thing for awhile. Try Rootsweb; it's free and I managed to find a lady who had my great-great-great grandfather's journal from 1875 and a bunch of pictures. Lovely stuff.
